[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Oden 09:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- ...Ann Coulter
- Who's involved?
- ...User:Kyaa the Catlord, User:Oden
- What's going on?
- ...I found an image of Ann Coulter on Flickr with a free license which I uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons (Image:Ann Coulter.jpg) to replace a fair use image (Image:Coulter-Silver-dress.jpeg). Wikipedia:Fair use criteria (policy) states: "Always use a more free alternative if one is available." However this has been reverted by User:Kyaa the Catlord (diff 1 diff 2) who also removed the templates from the old image which lacks a fair use rationale and is a replaceable fair use image (diff).
- What would you like to change about that?
- ...I think that policy should be implemented, but do not wish to start a edit war (or violate the three-revert rule). I started a post on the talk page, but the response I got was somewhat strange: Talk:Ann_Coulter#Fair_use_image.2FFree_image.
- Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
- ...No need for discretion.
