[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Richardmalter 04:20, 7 August 2006 (UTC) [Richard Malter]
- Where is the issue taking place?
- ... Yoshiaki Omura page
- Who's involved?
- ... 3 people, Crum375, me, someone with many names, currently, Arcsincotan. I am on one 'side', the other two opposing.
- What's going on?
- ... edit war. people ignoring each other (I guess both sides will say this) when giving arguments etc re specifics/general article content etc
- What would you like to change about that?
- ... would like some 'continuous' neutral persons to mediate (ie not just fly in and out commentators which havn't helped the situation in the past); to arrive at some basic broad agreements at least.
- Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
- ... no, happy for public proceedings. richardmalter@riseup.net is my email if needed.
[edit] Mediator response
I will take this case. I will read the article, review the page history, and post to the article talk page within 24 hours. --Aguerriero (talk) 01:51, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- The case needs a new mediator per Wikipedia_talk:Mediation_Cabal#Assistance needed. Cowman109Talk 23:22, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've inserted myself into the conversation; hopefully I'll make some headway. I'm going to try and pick up where you left off, Cowman. - Che Nuevara 02:55, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion
While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.
[edit] Closing statement by Che Nuevara
During 10 weeks of discussion and attempted mediation:
- No unanimous consensus was reached on a single point of the mediation.
- Revert wars were sparked on at least three separate occasions.
- All suggested courses of action were either rejected outright by at least one party or agreed to and then retracted to by at least one party.
This dispute is, in my esteem, no longer about content in any meaningful way. The power struggle between the various editors involved has become the main focus of the discussion. Forward progress seems to be completely unattainable.
I strongly discourage any further attempt at informal mediation; I was not the first mediator to work on this case with little success. In between mediations, edit warring undid all the progress attained by the previous mediator. There seems to be no reasonable expectation of progress in this mediation.
