[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Avel2 23:10, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- In the article on Norman Lowell
- Who's involved?
- Myself (i.e. Avel2) and Drew88
- What's going on?
- I am trying to include more facts (documented) about the subject of the article and Drew88 is continuously removing them. Admittedly such facts are not favourable to the subject of the article but they are documented.
- What would you like to change about that?
- I would like the editions to stand or at least be amended if someone thinks they are not correct. Instead they are simply being reverted. It is clear that Drew88 is personally involved in the political movement represented by Norman Lowell
- Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
- I do not mind whether your work is discreet or otherwise. :) I can best be contacted by email at antoine.vella@um.edu.mt

[edit] Discussion
While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.
The edits that were reverted included the redirection of the article Norman Lowell to an article "Maltese racism" (which was immediately deleted thanks to an admin). The second edit by this user was the TOTAL DELETION of the article Norman Lowell when he realized that his "documented facts" got reverted. Drew88 06:36, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Recently this user has made other changes. Now if these statements are not POV, I don't know what is:
- "Most of his followers are naive young men, generally coming from the lower social classes". If this is not vandalism, I don't know what is.
- "his often offensive outburts" - Says who? And where is it stated?
- "the interview, however, offended many viewers" - and he said this without even quoting anything.
- "television stations are justificably cautious about inviting him" - Says who?
And to think, this editor is a University lecturer.

Having contributed to wikipedia for years here are my points about the above:
- Social class. Blunt statement, accepted as NPOV
- Its a fact that some facts are offensive. " What this Refers to Muammar al-Gaddafi as "il-kulunell purcinell" (the clown colonel)"
- Its a subjective statment, wikipedia is not about subjective statements
- Correct. The aim of tv stations is reducing the chances of having a libel suit.
Drew88, your first contribution appears to be in January 2006. Its good to learn on wikipedia. Prior to deleting stuff, place a note on the talk page for discussion. If this was done earlier, there would been no need for mediation whatsover. Maltesedog 12:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
