[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Typos 03:00, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Karl Menninger
Who's involved?
Typos (me) and Chiefbromden
What's going on?
Revert war. Chief wants to add the text of a letter where Menninger seems to recant everything he'd stood for during his career. Problem is, the letter is this massive beast and takes up more than the biography proper. I suggested he pare it down, but he didn't seem particularly amenable to my suggestions. Instead he accused me of hating Scientologists and being biased against Szasz (the guy Menninger wrote his letter to). While it was pretty funny to read his rant, I didn't come away with the impression that this was a person I could actually compromise with.
What would you like to change about that?
Perhaps he may yet listen to reason. But I doubt he'll hear it coming from me.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
I don't care to work discreetly.
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
No.

[edit] Mediator response

Hi, I am Adam and I have taken this case. I prefer that we discuss this matter on Talk:Karl Menninger. Ideogram 12:21, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

We have what seems to be an acceptable compromise on the table, but the opposing party has not responded for four and a half days. Closing case. Ideogram 17:31, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

[edit] Compromise offers

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.
