[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Nextec 17:50, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- In the "Home Automation" Article in the external links section.
- What's going on?
- User Mezuri who is supposedly a member of wikiproject spam replaces valid informative external links with links to their corporate webpage which outlines their related "for pay" services. Please Reference "Home Automation" and locate their commercial spam from the "custom installs" link in the external links setion. Also, look at the history of edits.
I have an informative glossary of terminology as well as other contributions I want to make other sections of the article but they are replaced daily with their spam. I do not want to play a daily at and mouse game with a supposed member of wikiproject spam. I do work in the home automation field but my external links and planned contributions are non-commercial in nature.
I have not looked into other articles mezuri may be spamming.
- What would you like to change about that?
- I think that Mezuri has clearly shown that he/she should not be a member of wikiproject spam and should not make edits through an ip ban or whatever the standard procedure is.
Thank You, User:Nextec
- If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
- Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
-
- This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
- what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
- Yes, I am very interested in making positive contributions to Wikipedia
[edit] Mediator response
I've notified Nextec that Mezuri has been warned about the behaviour (entering commercial links) and am treating the case as simple commercial link insertion. Closing case. ~Kylu (u|t) 01:09, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Evidence
Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.
[edit] Compromise offers
This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.
[edit] Comments by others
While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.
OK, I'll see if I can get some of my admin friends to block this guy for you :-) David P. A. Hunter
