[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Betamax Bandit 08:31, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
...In the artical "Friends of the Western Buddhist Order"
Who's involved?
...Several people; Myself - Betamax Bandit,Vapour, and Mahaabaala.
What's going on?
...I have been trying to edit this page to make it more accurate and Vapour keeps quoting pseudo-wiki rules and reverting the page, so that his/her version of the truth has a monopoly
What would you like to change about that?
...That vapour allows other people to contribute to the evolution of this page and reads what they contribute in an open and objective way, rather then using the 'revert' option - which destroys quality editing and improvements.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
...I dont mind, I'd rather not get into to much conflict.
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
...I could do. I have attended several courses in Non-Violent Communication over the years and have some training in Co-Councelling. Im by no means a trained mediator but could possibly contribute some help form time to time.

[edit] Mediator response

Is mediation still necessary? This page has been inactive since Tutmosis suggested that you engage in talk at the talk page. Is mediation still necessary? If not, I will close this case. Cowman109Talk 19:35, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

[edit] Compromise offers

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.

[edit] Comments by others

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

[edit] Discussion

To Betamax Bandit:

Briefly looking over your case, it appears Vapour reverted your edit as well as one other for his given reason "Failure to engage in debate amount to vadalism" which is not wikipedian policy to my knowledge. Even though it is not wikipedian policy, he still requests an explanation for your edits and there has been no effort on your part, Betamax Bandit, to engage in discussion on the article talk page or his talk page. Instead of requesting Mediation, I would recommend you to discuss your changes with him, and if your changes merit good sourced encyclopedic information and he refused them, I would suggest requestion mediation assistant then. Thank you. - Tutmosis 15:39, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
