[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Ramki 19:58, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
At two articles: Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Anna University
Who's involved?
63.65.68.246
What's going on?
Someone at 63.65.68.246 has been editing out an external link to a support group (a yahoo! group) for LGBT alumni/students of the concerned institutions. This has happened multiple times, and everytime without any comment or entry in the talk page.
What would you like to change about that?
Either the person should tell me what his/her problem is, with the link, or should stop deleting the link.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
NA
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
Yes!

[edit] Mediator response

Hi there! I am Cowman109Talk and I have volunteered to take this case. From what I understand this case involves an anonymous user removing an external link without discussion. If the user does not respond in any way, though, things are a bit difficult. The first thing you should try to do is go to the user's talk page and politely ask him to see Talk:Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering. Be sure to sign your comment with ~~~~. If you cannot make contact with the user, his removal of the links might be seen as simple vandalism, in which case you may want to ask an administrator about what to do, as the Mediation Cabal cannot deal with punishments and that sort of thing. If you would like a suggestion about an administrator in particular to speak with if you cannot contact the user, then I'll be happy to find one for you. Cowman109Talk 13:48, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Update 19:12, 12 May 2006 (UTC) As there has been no response, I am closing this case. There is little to mediate and this issue is best handled through administrator attention and/or WP:3o. Cowman109Talk 19:12, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

[edit] Compromise offers

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.
