[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Fiddle Faddle 20:52, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- Kathy Kirby and on the talk page associated with the article.
- Who's involved?
- There seems to be some history here. The article appears oddly contentious. Parties are user at IP 82.8.66.242 and Fiddle Faddle 21:07, 17 April 2006 (UTC), though the talk page shows some prior history with other protagonists.
- What's going on?
- A difference of opinions which should normally be solved easily. I feel that the page needs sections, so added twice now a request for sections. 82.8.66.242 has now twice removed that with no explanation, but with unpleasantness on the talk page which may or may not link back to a previous heated conversation between others.
-
- I am now more confused. Had a very civilised conversation with an editor who seems to have created the page, or has at least created the bulk of the article, today. I doubt he is the anon editor since he is amenable to sensible discussion and has no issues about identifying himself. I have made no edits to this page myself, and will not for now. The reason is that while the somewhat abrasive anon guy is around it feels pointless making any edits since they attract rudeness. I may, of course, be asking for mediation in error. There may be a better route, but I feel as though any edits made will just be reverted, or I will be abused. So I need a more experienced person to look at this, please. Fiddle Faddle 19:55, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- What would you like to change about that?
- I'm new to this. So I am, in the main, asking for advice. It appears that anything people do in this page is against the wishes of an anonymous editor, and that comments by that editor are not in the spirit of co-operation here. I'd like to see a better article, and I'd like to see politeness used. Both of these would be to the benefit of people who want to learn more about Kathy Kirby. If a mediator can persuade the anon person at 82.8.66.242 to be peaceful, co-operative and not rude that would be ideal.
- What I don't want to achieve is a lame edit war.
- If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
- ...
- Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
-
- This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
- what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
- perhaps in the future. Currently I do not have the experience
[edit] Mediator response
Expansion is needed; the article is too short to warrant sections due to using anchors Will (E@) T 19:17, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi there, I am Cowman109Talk from the Mediation Cabal. This case has not seen any activity since April 20th, so I'm inquiring to see if the case is still active and if not, whether it can be closed. Thanks. Cowman109Talk 18:52, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Evidence
Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.
[edit] Compromise offers
This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.
