[edit] Request Information

Request made by: PecherTalk 20:30, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Articles Infidel and Dhimmi.
Who's involved?
Myself and Mike18xx on one side and Farhansher and Palmiro on the other side.
What's going on?
On Infidel, disagreements concern primarily the definition of the Islamic term Kafir, namely whether the term applies to all non-Muslims or to non-Muslims except Jews and Christians. The disagreements have spilled over to the article Kafir with occasional spikes of edit wars there. After a request by Farhansher, Anonymous editor protected the page in the version favorable to Farhansher and Palmiro. Although I have gathered sourced evidence in favor of my position and the other side did not provide comparable evidence, no consensus seems to have been reached. At the moment, the discussion has entered a near-moribund state.
On Dhimmi, I have substantially expanded one of the section, providing citations of my sources in accordance with the applicable Wikipedia policies. Previously, the section was virtually unreferenced. Farhansher reverted my edits without giving explanations and immediately requested Anonymous editor to protect the page, claiming an edit war, although none was going on at the moment. Moreover, Palmiro was also dissatisfied with the protection of the page. Disagreements between Palmiro and myself are related primarily to the admissibility of certain sources on which much of work was based. While Palmiro claims that the sources are unreliable, no specific evidence to support this claim has been provided so far. Although an intense discussion was taking place between Palmiro and myself for some time, the debate has since stalled.
What would you like to change about that?
  1. Have the pages unlocked and avoid edit wars after that.
  2. Reinvigorate the discussion and make it more specific and less personal.
  3. Achieve consensus versions for both articles.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
Talk page is fine
