[edit] Request for cabal mediation

[edit] Request Information

Request made by:T-Boy: (complain bitterly) (laugh contemptuously) 02:12, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
It's taking place in the Linford Christie article, and in its talk page.
Who's involved?
What's going on?
The dispute, I think, began on the 19th of January, when Robsteadman changed the introductory paragraph of the article in question by adding the words "disgraced" and "drug cheat" into the introductory paragraph. His insistance is that it's factual and a fair summary of Christie's life and career. The other disputants, including me, disagree, as we feel that it is a violation of WP:NPOV. The article's oscillated between one version to another after that, and the discussion in the Talk Page seems to be getting nowhere real fast.
What would you like to change about that?
I'd like the edit war to stop, as it's an exhausting waste of time. Failing that, a clear directive to how the introductory paragraph of the article should be stated by someone who is more experienced at this. If it is somehow able to convince both sides that they're not being screwed over, that would be nice. I don't want this to escalate any further, if that's possible -- it would be ideal if we can just agree on what the introduction paragraph should be like so that we can move forward.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
Email is preferred. I've configured my settings for that, and I'm not contactable any other way.
