[edit] Request by User:Dryguy

Request made by: dryguy 00:28, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Wknight94 user page
He removed it after I posted to mediation cabal, but waited a few days and put a much more blatant personal attack in Wknight94/Private.
Who's involved?
Wknight94, dryguy
What's going on?
personal attack on dryguy on Wknight94 user page, also the thread on my talk page kind of says it all if you want detailed background
What would you like to change about that?
Get personal attack removed. Also, if he feels compelled to post anything about me, move it off his user page to talk, since Wikipedia convention says I can't post a response on his user page.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
post at dryguy talk is fine

Comments:

This later page was a test to see if this apparent stalker is actually seeking me out - and it turns out I was correct. That page has been modified to say the following:

All the same person who is apparently watching every edit I make and/or going out of his way to find everything I do. There were purposely absolutely zero links to this page in the entire system and yet he still found it. His edit count shows that he spends more time watching and addressing me than doing anything else on Wikipedia.

This page is no longer a personal attack as it is now 100% true - and I'll be opening another case alleging cyberstalking. —Wknight94 (talk) 15:14, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

If Dryguy would feel better posting a rebuttal on that User:Wknight94/Private page now, he has my permission. I'm not sure why he feels it's necessary since, to my knowledge, he's the only one that knows of its existence - but if that's his main concern, he can have at it. —Wknight94 (talk) 16:58, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request by User:Wknight94

Request made by:Wknight94 (talk) 15:32, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
User talk:Dryguy, etc.
Who's involved?
*User:Dryguy (talk | contribs) who also uses User:71.16.30.178 (talk | contribs) and User:69.180.51.7 (talk | contribs)
What's going on?
Dryguy demonstrated that he is watching my activity far more closely than I find comfortable. He was scanning over my user page to the point that I had to remove text that he considered an attack (which I deny) and I decided to move my user page to a private area. To my dismay, he then found that and put it on his watch list. No one had knowledge of that page and there were no links to it so I tested Dryguy by purposely putting a provoking message on it and, sure enough, he found it in hours.
What would you like to change about that?
I want him to remove my pages from his watchlist and stop monitoring my edit contributions so that I might re-instate my user page and continue using Wikipedia comfortably. In return, I'll remove all mention of him on my user page and will only keep a mention of his various IDs on a separate unlinked page (that is simply a prudent approach to thwart sockpuppetry).
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?

[edit] Mediator response

I'm Nicholas Turnbull, mediator and coordinator of the Mediation Cabal; I'll be handling this request for you from now on. I have merged the following two cases, 2006-01-14 refusal to remove personal attack from Wknight94 user page (request made by Dryguy) and 2006-01-16 Cyberstalking by Dryguy (request made by Wknight94).

I merged the two cases because they appear to deal with the same conflict issue and would be best handled as one case rather than being duplicated across the two separate requests. Both of your requests are as you made them, but are placed on one page and will be dealt with as one mediation issue.

I have not yet looked into the issues of this case, as it will take me some time to perform the investigation. I should be able to publish my initial analysis and suggestions on how to proceed within the next 24-48 hours. Best regards, --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) 18:40, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
