Talk:Media democracy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I deleted the category "Anarchism" since no explanation was given as to why the article was catagorized as such. While anarchists might be involved in the media democracy movement, media democracy and media reform are not primarily anarchist ideas or movements. Causerie 23:45, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting. I saw that tag, yet ignored it. It seemed natural to me. I guess I don't fear the "A-word", as I see anarchism is the philosophical movement behind the practical implementation called democracy. Anarchism, like democracy, eschews central control or unaccountable authoritative power. These are the core concepts behind the media democracy movement. I'm not passionate enough about the tag removal to revert it, though :) --Bill Huston (talk) 01:54, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Neutrality problems
This article makes controversial factual assertions like "increased corporate domination of mass media" and value judgments like "Unfortunately, Wikinews has not received the same public interest as Wikipedia." Controversial claims and opinions need to be referenced to third-party sources, and contradictory views must be given fair treatment. -- Beland 19:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Current TV
Can we also represent Current TV as an example of this? -- thessaysno | talk 16:14, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Barker, Michael
Can anybody in the know have a look at the two references of Barker, Michael - since User:Mike31 just added that reference, I'm a little suspicious about its relevance. Same goes for Free Press (organization) Amalthea (talk) 01:10, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
