Medvedkovo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Medvedkovo (Russian: Медведково) is the northern terminus of the Moscow Metro's Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line. It opened on September 30, 1978 and was built to a pillar-trispan design. The architects were Nina Aleshina, Samoilova, and Volovich. Medvedkovo features flared pillars faced with pinkish marble and strips of stainless steel. The outer walls of the station are coated with red marble and interlocking triangles of anodized aluminum punctuated with plaques by M.N. Alekseev depicting northern wildlife.
Entrances to the station are located on either side of Ulitsa Shirokaya just west of Ulitsa Grekova (map).
