Medion AG is a German company which sells consumer electronics products. It operates in Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. The main products are computers, TVs, refrigerators, toasters, and fitness equipment. The company is becoming popular in Europe but has failed in the North American market. The company's main popularity is due to the products they produce being low cost, but usually high quality although this has not always been the case it is a statement that can be said for many of the later Medion products. However a recent spate of defective products has caused a major downturn in profits.[citation needed] Medion products in Australia are available exclusively at Aldi, with some products (such as DVD players) branded as Tevion (see below). Some of their laptops are selling in North America in Best Buy stores. Also sold in Canada at Future Shop as Cicero Computers. Somerfield and Aldi supermarkets in the United Kingdom now stock 17" Medion TFT monitors, Portable Digital Audio Players, Satellite Navigation systems, desktops, laptops and Personal Digital Assistants. Woolworths in the United Kingdom also stock Medion laptops and desktop packages that include tower unit, monitor, mouse, keyboard, and printer. Woolworth stores also stock a few of Medion's laptop range, Tesco have also been known to stock a Medion satellite navigation system as well as the Medion Quad Core computer system, however, the Medion Quad Core has been discontinued in Tesco stores.
The gpl-violations.org project has claimed that a Medion notebook model violates the terms of the GPL. In 2005, the Medion MD95500 came pre-installed with "Cyberlink PowerCinema Linux" but did not refer to the GPL, and the source code was not published.[2]

Tevion is a brand used by Medion and European discount retailer Aldi for low-price electronic products. Manuals for Tevion products show the name of Medion on the back and bear a "MD" model number. Some "Tevion" products sold at Aldi may not be produced by Medion but by other manufacturers such as Siemens.
The brand CyberMaxx is also used by Medion.
Medion is also a sponsor for the Formula 1 team - Force India.
