Mediacy is a term that is being circulated in education circles that extends from Literacy and Numeracy as the facility to work with words and numbers to Mediacy which is a facility in working with media. As we become a much more interlinked, interconnected, and interdependent collection of media consuming individuals we also have the opportunity to be contributors to that gropwing body of media. Much of it is multi media with images, text, audio and as new technologies emerge new mediums to present our experience of our lives. As educators it is now our responsibility to prepare our students to not just be passive consumers of media but active, creative, and relevant producers of media.
