The media in Somalia has been dominated by the military events of the country's recent history[citation needed].
Somalia is served by many radio stations, including many community radio stations which are associated with news websites. There are many out-of-country internet radio and news sites run by Somali expatriates.
Larger media companies include Shabelle Media Network.
