MedExpress Urgent Care operates a group of urgent care facilities in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. MedExpress is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m[1]. MedExpress does not accept appointments, as patients are seen on a first-come first-served basis. MedExpress aims to see and treat patients in under an hour. All MedExpress locations are wheelchair accessible and all have free parking [2].

MedExpress was founded by Frank Alderman, MD, Kevin Blankenship, MD, J. Christian McCarter, MD, and Bryan Stuchell, MD in Morgantown, West Virginia, in September, 2001[3]. The first clinic was built in Morgantown followed by expansion to Parkersburg, West Virginia and then into Pennsylvania[4]. In February 2006, the company had expanded into a new building on Don Knotts Boulevard[5].

MedExpress CorporateCare functions to assist businesses in preventative care, testing and clinical services. After an injury, case managers serve as communication liaisons between patients, referral sources and employers to keep all parties up-to-date on an employee’s return-to-work process. Through this program, MedExpress also offers contractual services, plant visits and consultation to employers in order to help in developing an occupational medicine program tailored to their needs[7].
