MechaCon is an anime convention started in 2005. It is an annual three-day event held over an August weekend in Lafayette, Louisiana.[1]

MechaCon is a new concept in the anime convention arena. Bridging the genres of anime and Transformers with Japanese cultural exhibits, panels and presentations, MechaCon is the first convention of its kind. Conveniently located on the I-10 corridor between New Orleans and Houston.[2]
