- Newcomers of Wikipedia are often shy to start editing and using Wikipedia, so the the Welcoming commitee was created to search for new users who haven't been welcomed yet, and to make them more comfortable with Wikipedia. I often find new users on the "Recent Changes" on the menu to the left. Not only can see every new update, but spot new users (which is easy because their "talk" link is red which signifies it is empty) New users are somewhat easy to spot because their "talk" link shows in red, meaning that their Talk page is empty.
