Userboxes
|
I've been using Wikipedia since mid-2003, although haven't been an active contributor for the vast majority of that time. I'm currently in my final year of A-levels, and am hoping to read Computer Science at Imperial starting next year.
Recently I've started 'patrolling' recent changes, and reverting vandalism. I have a few ideas for ways of filtering the recent changes list to highlight probably vandalisms (is that a word?), which I'll be playing with over the next few days. I'm pretty sure that if all edits from school IPs were blocked, there would be a lot less vandalism, but I'd guess quite a few useful contributions originate from there as well.
I'm not a big fan of userboxes, they look too inconsistant, and a large number of them seem irrelevant, but I guess that's a matter of personal taste.
