McNamara (constructor)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
McNamara was a German constructor of racecar chasis from the late 1960s to the 1972.
[edit] History
McNamara was formed by Francis McNamara, a United States soldier who raced Formula Vee cars while stationed in Germany. Dan Hawkes designed a 1969 chasis for Formula 3 called the F3 McNamara Sebring Mk3. The car was modified for 1970, and it was called the 3B.
The team also built chasis for Mario Andretti in 1970 for the Indianapolis 500, as well as modifying Andretti's March 701 in Formula One. Neither car proved successful.[1]
McNamara's wife suddenly died, he was investigated by the Interpol, and he disappeared.[1]

His wife's name was Bonnie, maiden name Kiplinger. She was the daughter of W. M. Kiplinger, the founder of Kiplinger Washington Editors Inc and his wife LaVerne Kiplinger. She had 2 sons from her first marriage to Eugene Watts, the founder of the brass quintet, Canadian Brass. I know this because I am her older son, Kevin Watts born in 1961. My brother, her second, is Keith Watts born in 1963. It's still a mystery as to the specifics of her death. I was told growing up, that it was an accidental overdose of alcohol and perscription drugs.
