[edit] Australian Outback (TV Series)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Australian Outback (TV Series), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Australian Outback (TV Series). --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 16:13, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I am curious to why you decided to remove sources on the home and away page and add characters without sources. Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Bridgwater Bay (TV Series), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Home and Away

May i ask you why you decided to remove a verifable refrence that supports the fact that a new character will be joining the show?? There was no reason specified in the edit summary and i canot think of why you would do such a thing hence your edits to Home and Away were considered to be unconstructive and have been reverted. If you have an issue with this discuss it either here, or on my talk page or on the article talk page. cheers Printer222 (talk) 05:01, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Your edit to Kirsty Phillips did not cite any sources when claiming that it was mentioned that she returns in TV week. If TV week did claim this, refrence the article correctly and we have no issue. As a result your edits have been reverted For more information about citing sources see WP:CITE. Printer222 (talk) 07:25, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Cred2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cred2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:30, 24 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nilfanion (talk) 01:30, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Drovers.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Drovers.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 01:42, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Leah Patterson-Baker

A tag has been placed on Leah Patterson-Baker requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. George D. [edit] Speedy deletion of Leah Patterson-Baker

A tag has been placed on Leah Patterson-Baker, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. [edit] Article Naming

Hi,

I Just noticed the collection of McLeod's Daughters articles which you created - ones for each season. (McLeods Daughters - The Second Season)

Just on naming conventions:

The name of the series is McLeod's Daughters, with an apostrophe. It is essential that you include the correct name of the series including this apostrophe, otherwise it is just annoying for other Wikipedians who must fix the problem.

Also, "The Second Season" needn't be in capitals. "McLeod's Daughters" is in capitals because it is a proper noun, in other words, it is the name of something. A more suitable title for this article may be McLeod's Daughters (season 1), a title used by the majority of season articles on Wikipedia (Lost (season 3), The Simpsons (season 7), Blue Heelers (season 13)).

Please remember this, as well as other naming conventions, if you choose to create more new pages.

Thanks, if you have any concerns, please contact me.

Daniel99091 (talk) 04:07, 1 April 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Suggestions

Hello again,

I just have a few more suggestions for you:

  • In the lead section of an article, the article's subject should be in bold. See WP:LEAD.
  • The lead section of an article is a summarised version of the article itself. A good lead should introduce a reader to the rest of the article. See WP:LEAD
  • If the article is a stub (a very short article with very little content which will be expanded), add a stub template like {{Australia-tv-stub}}. See WP:STUB.
  • Remember, when naming an article, only capitalise words which must be capitalised (eg. names, places, specific things, etc.). When creating a list, like a list of characters from a television programme, a good title would be: List of McLeod's Daughters characters. See WP:NAME.
  • Wikipedia favours real world information opposed to fictional information. Also, be certain to distinquish between fact and fiction; sometimes its hard to tell in some articles and its a little confusing.
  • If you want to start a new article, make sure there is enough information available on the topic. If there isn't enough, write about it in the main article. Remember, quality over quantity.
  • When uploading images, always state a source and add a rationale or the image will be deleted.
  • Add references. They are the most important thing in an article and having plenty of references is the only way that Wikipedia will come to be a respected source of quality. information. Always add references to statements which are facts and may be disputed. If you do not add such citations to statements, they will be deleted. If you need a place for references, I find newspaper articles to be a good place for things such as TV shows. [www.australiantelevision.net The Australian Television Information Archive] has a good supply of articles for many TV shows.

Thanks. If you have any comments or questions, I would be more than happy to help, as would any other Wikipedian if you asked.

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Drovers.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Drovers.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Home and away

Please go to WP:BALL. This policy states: Wikipedia is not a collection of unverifiable speculation. All articles about anticipated events must be verifiable, and the subject matter must be of sufficiently wide interest that it would merit an article if the event had already occurred.

Based on this it is my interpretation that speculation about characters that are either coming to the bay or leaving the bay are not premited, as first of all it is hard to 100% verify this speculation and it's really not that important, that it would merit an article if these characters had already come or left.

so i have reverted your edits that added this sort of speculative information. Thanks Printer222 (talk) 10:18, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] POV

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to McLeods Daughters - The Third Season‎ appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 13:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright Violations

Hello,

Just a quick note as to why I recently reverted your edits to the McLeod's Daughters articles: You added episode summaries that were copied and pasted from another website. This is a copyright violation and cannot be added to Wikipedia. Please refrain from adding copyrighted material to Wikipedia; it will be deleted. If you would like to add episode summaries, perhaps read the summaries on other websites and create your own. That way, you are not stealing somebody else's hard work.

Thankyou for your understanding,

Daniel99091 (talk) 06:34, 21 April 2008 (UTC).

[edit] McLeod's Daughters Episode Summary Copyright Violations

McLeod1,

Would you please refrain from copying episode summaries into Wikipedia from other websites; this is a form of theft. This is, as I have said, a violation of copyright law. If you continue to add material subject from copyright, I will take this further and have you blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Thankyou, and if I am incorrect in any way, please let me know.

[edit] More copyright violations

McLeod1,

I see you have again added material that is subject to copyright to Wikipedia, this time McLeod's Daughters (season 6). I also notice you have created pages for individual season 6 episodes which consist entirely of stolen text and which, in my opinion, will be speedily deleted. I, and numerous other editors, have warned you against violating copyright before, to no prevail. This time I shall be taking it further and I will be recommending you are blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Thankyou, and if you have any concerns, please drop a note on my talk page. Daniel99091 (talk) 23:31, 25 April 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Speedy deletion of Grace Kingston

A tag has been placed on Grace Kingston, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Speedy deletion of Grace Kingston

A tag has been placed on Grace Kingston requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

[edit] Speedy deletion of Snorri Thorfinsson

A tag has been placed on Snorri Thorfinsson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
