McLane Advanced Technologies, LLC (MAT) is a service-based Information Technology and Logistics Company based in Temple, Texas. The company, founded in 2004 by Drayton McLane, Jr., provides information technology and logistics services to federal, state, and local government entities and to small and medium commercial businesses. MAT is currently contracted to provide logistics information technology to the United States Army. The company fields SAMS-E to the Army worldwide.[2]

McLane Advanced Technologies was established in 2004 by Drayton McLane, Jr. after discovering the Army's need for an updated logistics software system.[3] In its first three years, MAT grew at a rate of 431% and added nearly 300 employees.[4] Since being founded in 2004, MAT's core competencies have grown to include: Custom computer programming, software modernization, laboratory information management systems, warehouse management systems, supply-chain management systems, distribution systems, software integration, and general IT services.[5]

McLane Advanced Technologies was named the Number One Rising Star Company in Deloitte & Touche's Technology Fast 50 Program for Texas in 2007. The Rising Star award is a special designation for fast-growth companies that have been in business a minimum of three years, but less than five and is part of the Deloitte Texas Technology Fast 50 program, which ranks the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences companies headquartered in Texas. Additionally, MAT was #13 on the Deloitte & Touche's Fast 500.[6]

McLane Advanced Technologies received the Temple Chamber of Commerce Employer of the Year, presented by the Military Affairs Committee, honoring employers who demonstrate active employee recruitment of military veterans, National Guardsmen, and Reservists, 2005. [7]

MAT, in conjunction with Temple College, received a job-training grant from the Skills Development Fund that the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) administers. The grant is used to create or upgrade the skills of 247 test engineer, help desk analyst, PC support technician and project leader positions, among others.[8]
