Talk:McIntosh Laboratory
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Extreme POV
I have never seen such a blatant example of a marketing article on Wikipedia before. This article reads more like an advertisement than it does an encyclopedia entry. In addition to excessively listing McIntosh Laboratory's product lines, the article is little more than a company-touting sales pitch. This can be seen, among other lines, in statements like the following:
- "The company is noted for its extremely high build quality and excellent technical specifications."
- "McIntosh continues to operate independent engineering, design and production operations in accordance with the company's tradition of quality."
- "Their source units are legendary for their ease of use and excellent 'feel'."
- "They are designed with the same care that is paid to McIntosh's home source units, a level of dedication rarely seen in the car audio universe."
This article needs a complete rewrite by someone (unlike me) who has a knowledge of the company, and is capable of presenting it in an informative and neutral way. — Poga — 19:04, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Personally, I think this is more fanboy-ism than marketing or advertising. Just my 2 cents. Agreed, balance is needed. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 20:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi-fi products can command fierce loyalty. A-giau 11:30, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

- I've made some edits to try to make the article more NPOV. If there are remaining issues, please specify what they are. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 15:45, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
