Hypnosis is a process in which critical thinking faculties of the mind are bypassed and a type of selective thinking and perception is established. Although some individuals experience an increase in suggestibility and subjective feelings of an altered state of consciousness, this is not true for everyone.
[edit] Hypnosis
Hi, I just noticed that you are working on the hypnosis article section: "3 Views on theoretical debate". It certainly does need some work. That article must be difficult to work on. As it stands that section and the authors cited do not really fairly represent the current debates in theoretical hypnosis. I'm about to be involved in a literature review of modern hypnosis. Would you like to be kept posted? --Comaze 06:50, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
