I am a human American.

I have a undergraduate degree in Russian Language. I've also studied French, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian, and Latin.

Having decided that my career opportunities as a Russian Language specialist were either uninteresting or life-threatening, I got a second degree in Computer Science. I now consider myself a programmer, and a former speaker (by choice) of Russian.

I'm also a musician. I think.

My interests:

• history (esp. NY State)
• music (of all sorts, but especially jazz, folk/Americana, and indy-rock)
• programming topics (esp. Java, Python, Lisp, AI)
• literature (esp. off-beat contemporary fiction, and 19th-century American fiction)
• politics (mostly lefty)
