There are many biographical articles on people who are notable for being obese. Look at List of the heaviest people. Many of the people there have articles for no other reason than that they are extremely obese. Billy and Benny McGuire won a Guinness World Record for obesity. Apparently they were famous in the 70s as a wrestling tag-team. I don't see why they should be denied an entry in Wikipedia, in light of the number of people who have entries based on their obesity alone. Joie de Vivre 02:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

That is correct, but there is nothing to say about these twins other than that they featured in the Guinness Book of Records. Personally, I think some of those articles deserve to go (or be merged) as well. Robin S 02:51, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
That's not really accurate. There are many accounts online of their tag-team wrestling exploits. If you think other articles need to go too that is an issue for those articles. The McGuire twins are not any less notable than, say, Hottentot Venus, Rosalie Bradford or other such people deemed notable as "curiosities". Joie de Vivre 03:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
There are accounts online of many things, but that is not to say that all of those things are worthy of a mention in Wikipedia. If you know of reasons why the twins merit an article, I would suggest mentioning those reasons within the article. Claiming that complaints against other articles should be confined to those articles is beside the point, since I only mentioned them in defence against one of your arguments for keeping this article. "They shouldn't be there either" doesn't prove anything. I don't have time to improve the article right this second so if you could assume good faith and give me (and others) time to improve the article you might find yourself with something nice to read here.  :) Joie de Vivre 03:57, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Apologies. I was merely trying to explain why I did not consider the existence of other articles, with similar subjects, to be an adequate defence of this article. I will, however, assume good faith and wish you luck in improving the article. Robin S 04:11, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Could somebody who knows this subject please add the weights of the twins? The article is pointless without this central fact. Chip 18:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
