[edit] About image permissions...
Thank you for uploading Image:MNF2.jpg. You indicated that the image is used with the subject's permission. However, you have not indicated the license status of the image.
Just because the subject has given permission to use the image, it still may not be usable on Wikipedia. The key question is the copyright status of the image. If the subject does not also hold the copyrights, then from a legalistic standpoint, he does not have the right to control how it is used. Even if he does have the copyrights, giving permission does not change the fact that the image is subject to severe restrictions.
If he has the rights to the image and intends to give permission for it to be used on Wikipedia—and for possible downstream commercial use by print versions created from Wikipedia, etc.—then he should release the image or a derivative in a "free" license format such as Creative Commons or the GFDL. —C.Fred (talk) 15:56, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Original research cannot be the basis for an article
Greetings! I see that you have built the Mickey Fisher article based on first-hand knowledge and personal interviews. Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not a repository of original thought; articles may not use original research to support their statements.
Accordingly, the article needs to site reliable sources: third-party sources such as newspapers, magazines, and biographies that are independent of the subject.
Based on what's in the article now, I think he's a notable individual deserving of an article. However, if there are no independent sources to verify the article, it may wind up being deleted. —C.Fred (talk) 17:54, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Mickey Fisher
I have nominated Mickey Fisher, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mickey Fisher. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Possible recreation of Mickey Fisher article
I'm responding here as well as at Talk:Mickey Fisher, because without an article in place, that talk page could be deleted.
The deletion was due to a lack of reliable sources in the article. It was deleted through the articles for deletion discussion process; results of the discussion are here.
I would suggest gathering some sources that demonstrate his notability. Once that's done, it will be easier to build a case for the article in the deletion review process. —C.Fred (talk) 21:23, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Many thanks; I will gather as many sources that fit the criteria as possible and look forward to participating in the deletion review process. Thank you for your assistance. Mickey McDermottMcder (talk) 22:05, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Here are some independent references supporting the history of Shin-Toshi and Mickey Fisher. Hopefully these will help to substantiate the story and support the recreation of the article. Thanks in advance for your consideration
