I'd like to think of myself as a balanced wikipedian. I sometimes start articles, sometimes do research and add content to existing articles, sometimes fix typos, grammar, and puctuation, and I also look for opportunities to elide POV. I have an AB from UC Berkeley in Political Science, though I also tried to balance my studies there by taking upper division or graduate course in mathematics, physics, and history. Then I had three successive one-year appointments as a research assistant at the Hoover Institution. I also worked professionally in politics, including as a member of staff on a campaign that elected a US Senator from CA.
A significant portion of my work on the Wikipedia has been on the political articles, particularly trying to ensure NPOV, especially with regard to the third parties of the US. Disclosure: I currently serve on the board of directors of the United States Libertarian Party, as Chair of the Judicial Committee of the Libertarian Party of California, as Vice Chair of the Libertarian Party of New York, as Chairman of the Libertarian Party Bylaws Committee, and as Chair of the Libertarian National Congressional Committee.
I've spent over six years in the former soviet union and done some minor work on the Russian language wikipedia, especially providing links to corresponding articles in the English version.
