The McAllen Independent School District is a school district headquartered in the city of McAllen, Texas, United States.

Carlos Castañeda Elementary School is a public elementary school for grades Pre-K through 5. It was established in 2001, and as of August 2006 its enrollment was over 1,000. The motto is The Mark of Pride, Prestige and Perfection and the mascot is the Cavalier. Official site.
