[edit] Stadium
The club, one of the most popular in Algeria, plays at the Ahmed Zabana Stadium (40,000 places), in the popular district of El Hamri. The team supporters are nicknamed Hamraoua (named after the neighbourhood), and the team's colors are red and white.
[edit] History
It was in the night of Tuesday, May 14, 1946, the eve of the Muslim holiday Mawlid Leilat el Ennabaoui Echarif (celebration of the birth of the prophet Mohammed), which meets five people in the local area to Ali Bentouati Lamur - the current (El Hamri) - and agree to found a club to be called Mouloudia Club d'Oran. Among the founders, there were Bentouati Ali, Mohamed Bessoul, Omar Rouane Serrik, Boumefraa (one of the founders of Oran USM), and Omar (Mouloudia's first president), wealthy merchant in El Hamri. The founding ceremony of Mouloudia was attended by Cheïkh Said Zamouchi, delegated by the influential Sheikh Al Tayeb Mahaji and Sheikh Ben Badis of the Association of Algerian Muslim clerics.
The club has had in its workforce, and especially during the golden years (71, 75, 85, 87, 89, 91, 92), great figures of Algerian football and even Africa, like Lakhdar Belloumi, Tedj Bensaoula, and Karim Morocco, as well as children of the club for generations as Abdelkader Freha, Sid Ahmed Belkedrouci, Miloud Hadfi through Cherif Tahar El Ouazzani.
If his career is crowned many trophies and national titles, it has nevertheless just managed to escape relegation twice. The first time in 1970, by winning a decisive match against legendary club CR Belouizdad. The following season, the Mouloudia wins with the same number his first title of champion of Algeria. The second time or MC Oran would escape relegation, it was in 1983. Curiously, the following season also, in 1984, won the Cup Mouloudia of Algeria with a new wave of talented young players such as Mourad Meziane, Cherif Tahar El Ouazzani, Bachir Mecheri, Arezki Lebbah, led by Abdellah Mecheri, against The DNC Algiers.
