[edit] New UK coin reverse designs
I see you have changed the images for several of the reverse designs. I hope you will update the text on these pages as the main body of the text doesn't mention the new designs. It still refers to "The normal reverse of the coin" despite the fact that the new designs are to replace the old ones as the regular designs. JRawle (Talk) 14:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
I did notice the change, and thank you for noticing it. I am currently, however, in the process of finding information for the page about the new designs.
Dankeschön

- Have you any idea whether the obverse of the 20p coin will change? The 20p is the only one currently to have the date on the reverse side. If the date isn't going to be incorporated into the new design, it'll need to be fitted onto the head side instead. So the image of the obverse will need to be changed eventually! - Unfortunately, I can't actually say that as I have not enough information to answer that question. I would suspet that the obverse would change as a result of the dropping of the date on the reverse. But there could also be the late decision to see the return of the date on the obverse, a very unlikely situation.

- You might be interested in this. Surprisingly, details of the new designs appeared in the London Gazette back in February! [1] It says for 20p:
- The design of the said twenty pence coins shall be as follows: 'For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription "ELIZABETH · II · D · G · REG · F · D ·" and the date of the year, and for the reverse a section of Our Royal Arms showing elements of the second and fourth quarterings accompanied by the words "TWENTY PENCE". The coin shall have a plain edge.'
- I'll update the article with a reference. JRawle (Talk) 23:44, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
