[edit] Development and design

The initial design is to include composite materials (about 33%), increasing to 40-45% provided a composite wing is added in 2015. Engines will be Russian made.

The target price is $35,000,000 USD.[1]

As of yet, no airlines have announced orders for the MC-21.

The MS-21 is due to receive 'concept approval' late in 2008 with production due to start at Irkut's IAZ plant in 2015.[2]
