The Mbya are an indigenous people living in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. They are descendents of the once numerous Guarani.
This group has a notably low lifespan of 40 and have a high mortality and hospitalization rate for malnutrition, respiratory problems, and disease[1]. The tribe and environmentalists claim root cause is Amazonian deforestation.
