MBS (hip hop)

MBS, short for Le Micro Brise Le Silence (the microphone breaks the silence) is a rap group formed in 1988 in Algeria. They sing in Arabic and French, and are led by Rabah Ourrad. Their lyrics mostly speak out against the Algerian government. Members are:

algira aka hadjira fezoui RedOne aka tennoune redwan (left in 2004) diktat-sy aka ayad Yacine (left in 2001 but still work with the band on their beats)
Their 1997 debut album, Ouled al Bahdja, was the first Algerian and arabic world hip-hop record.
