Mazda MX5 Championship

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mazda MX5 Championship is a UK based one-make sports car series with older spec mk1 1600cc Mazda MX-5s.Titled The MaX5 Racing Championship It is an entertaining championship which was started in the summer of 2003 by Alyn Robson and Jonathan Halliwell, with the first race season being in 2004. The championship works on the ethos that close racing is exciting racing, and is aimed at drivers who want to race for fun.

It succeeded a previous one-make saloon series with the same cars which ran in the late 1980s and early 1990s and was endorsed by Mazda. At times it has been on the same package as Group C sportscars.
