What?! I don't believe the per capita income is correct. Someone who knows more about this village, please change it/ bobsmith319.

The racial make-up in the community is really off...I'm a longtime Maywood resident and I am sure its not 99.7% Black


The racial makeup is probably more accurate than you think. Remember, white people sometimes have the tendency to overestimate black populations.

Back in the 1980s, a group of researches in Michigan found that once the black population of an area reached 8%, about 25% of whites found it "too black" and wanted to move. At 16%, over half of the white population found it "too black" and wanted to move out.
