Mayo County Council

Mayo County Council is the local authority for County Mayo, Ireland. Since 2004, the make-up of the 31-member (29 men 2 women) council is: 15 Fine Gael (Mayo has the highest FG vote of any Irish constituency), 12 Fianna Fáil, 2 Independent, 1 Sinn Féin and 1 Labour. In 2007, Ombudsman Emily O'Reilly reported that it was the worst-performing local authority in the Republic of Ireland.
