Maynor Figueroa (born 2 May 1983 in Jutiapa) is a Honduran soccer player that currently plays for Wigan Athletic. He is mostly known for his gifted left foot. He has a superbly powerful shot and is very good at set-pieces. Was captain of Olimpia before leaving to Wigan Athletic. He previously played for Victoria. In 2007, Figueroa received offers from MLS clubs, one of which was revealed to be the New England Revolution, but Osman Madrid turned down all the offers.
On December 20, 2007 the Honduran newspaper El Heraldo reported, as a result of interest expressed by the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic, Figueroa would be travelling to England for a 10 day trial with the club.
Figueroa has had previous interest from foreign clubs aside from those in the MLS. Club Toluca of Mexico being one of those making offers during 2007. However, during an interview, Madrid indicated the terms sought by other teams had been neither agreeable nor economically favorable to Olimpia or Figueroa.
