The Mayflower Mall is a regional shopping mall in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, which opened in 1980. It is the largest shopping centre on Cape Breton Island and as such draws from a wide trade area. It is operated by Burnac Corporation.
Among the mall's original anchors were Woolco and Simpson's.
Current anchor stores include The Bay and Staples Business Depot. In 2006, Wal-Mart moved from its mall location into a larger stand-alone store located on the Sydney Port Access Road. Following the vacancy the mall expanded into the former Wal-Mart location adding 119,778 square feet of mall space, including new to the market retailers such as Winners, SportChek and Future Shop.
In 2007, it was announced that long-time anchor Sobeys would be vacating their 55,000 square foot stand-alone anchor store. A plan is in place to redevelop this space with several national retailers including Michaels.
