Mayde Creek High School (MCHS) is a public high school located on Groschke Road in unincorporated Harris County, Texas and is part of the Katy Independent School District. Mayde Creek serves the portions of the city of Houston located in Katy ISD, including Addicks. Mayde Creek also serves many unincorporated communities in Harris County.
The school opened in 1984 for 9th graders, with the first graduating class in 1988. O.D. Tompkins serves as the current principal of Mayde Creek. The school itself is divided into two sections, the smaller of which serves as the "Ninth grade center". Recent additions to the campus include the performing arts building. The new pool is currently being built.

[edit] Clubs and athletics
Mayde Creek, under the nickname "Rams" competes in all major girls and boys sports. Mayde Creek also competes in many fine arts competitions including theater, choir, band and orchestra. Its school colors are kelly green and white. The Rams varsity football team made the playoffs for the first time in 10 years under head coach Lance Carter in the 07-08 season.

Mayde Creek is involved in and has won many Speech and Debate competitions over the years.[citation needed] Known for staying at school almost everyday to train, the Debate team is composed of Mayde Creeks' finest. The Speech team is also striving to win tournaments and usually finishes very well at most tournaments.

The Mayde Creek High School Mighty Ram Band is one of the most successful high school marching bands in Texas.[citation needed] It is the only marching band in Katy ISD to have straight 1's at U.I.L. contests six years in a row (and still running). The band takes great pride in representing the school and community by performing at all varsity football games, pep rallies, U.I.L. contests, and other contests and events. The band is under the direction of James Dolnik, Danny Rivera, and Mark Keene.

The Rampage is the official newspaper of Mayde Creek. Like the school's yearbook, The Paladin, it is sponsored by Sheyte Cypher.
