Maya Hakvoort

Maya Hakvoort (born on September 19, 1966 in Nijmegen) is a very successful Dutch musical actress in Europe.
Maya Hakvoort studied singing at the conservatory of Maastricht and acting and dancing at the kleinkunst-academy "De Trap" in Amsterdam, before she started gathering practical musical experience in Holland, Germany, Austria and Belgium. Maya debuted in the musical "Jeans" in 1989. After numerous minor and greater roles she got her up to now most famous title role in "Theater an der Wien" as Empress Elisabeth in the equally named most successful German-language musical of all time in Vienna, Austria in 1994, replacing Pia Douwes. Through playing the title role in Elisabeth she gained great recognition throughout Europe. Therefore, in 2005 and 2006, Maya toured through Austria, Italy and Germany with her own solo tour "Maya goes solo". In the beginning of 2007 Maya and some of her colleagues of the United Stages of Vienna went to Japan to perform the musical Elisabeth there. By now, Maya has already played the role of "Elisabeth" more than 1000 times. On October 12th, 2007 Maya's new solo tour "In My Life" premiered in Vienna. In the upcoming months she is going to tour through Austria and in May/June 2008 to Osaka /JPN with "In My Life".
