May to December was a BBC sitcom broadcast 1989-1994 on BBC1, written by Paul Mendelson and produced by Cinema Verity. It was set in Pinner and revolved around a widowed solicitor Alec Callender, who falls in love with and marries the much younger Zoe Angel, after she comes to him as a client filing for divorce.

Alec's grown-up children from his first marriage featured prominently in the story-line. His happy-go-lucky son Jamie approved of his new relationship, but his married daughter, Simone, was hostile towards Zoe. Zoe's mother and sister, who ran a greengrocer's store, were also featured. Much of the humour was provided by the office secretaries, the staid Miss Flood and the scatty Hilary.

Alec was portrayed by Anton Rodgers, and Zoe was portrayed by Eve Matheson in the first two series and then by Lesley Dunlop.

Other notable actors in the programme were Clive Francis, Rebecca Lacey and Frances White and{ Paul Venables{

The title of the show comes from the Anderson-Weill song "September Song", which is sung during the credits.

It also provided the breakthrough role for Scottish actress Ashley Jensen who went on to find fame in Extras and Ugly Betty.
