May 2008 MBTA Green Line "D" Accident

The May 2008 MBTA Green Line "D" Accident occurred on May 28, 2008, just after 6pm, when two trains collided on the Green Line "D" Branch between Woodland and Waban stations, behind 56 Dorset Road in Newton, Massachusetts.[1] MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo stated there were multiple injuries. The driver of the rear train, Terrese Edmonds, was trapped by the accident and died.[1] One passenger was airlifted to a local hospital.[2] An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board is underway.[3]
