Hi Max. Welcome to Wikipedia and all that.

Are you in any way linked to the site you have put in six external links to? Personally I quite like the audio files but a new user just adding links, sometimes with a USERID and sometimes with an IP attracts attention so I thought I'd just ask what you were up to?

Also are you specifically checking that the files you link to are ok on coypright?

Hello!

Yes, I'm linked to that site (boomp3.com).

I downloaded audio files from several web sites and uploaded to boomp3 - and yes, I wanted to promote it and show that it is nice way to share audio. I thought that posting historical audio to wikipedia would be interesting for it's visitors and useful for boomp3. Should it be considered spam?:(

Ok. In theory in Wikipedia you are not supposed to put up external links to your own site (please read Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest. However you seem to be a first time user and didn't know so I am only supposed to explain this and ask you to stop. If it is your own site you should suggest the link on the talk page and let someone else put it on the main article. If you have a list you could give it to me though because I think the links are worthy and would add them when I have time. The copyright thing is more difficult: I think actors and other creators are entitled to performance rights for up to a given period after their death but it depends on country etc. There may be somthing on audio at pages on Wikipedia:Public_domain or related pages or its a good enough question to post on the help pages. --BozMo talk 08:22, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
