[edit] RfA Results and Thanks

MaxSem/Archive/July-October 2006, thank you for your constructive opposition in my recent RfA. Although it did not succeed as no consensus was declared (final: 65/29/7), I know that there is always an opportunity to request adminship again. In the meantime, I will do my best to address your concerns in the hope that when the opportunity for adminship arises once again, you will reconsider your position. If at any time I make any mistakes or if you would like to comment on my contributions to Wikipedia, you are more than welcome to do so. Regardless of your religious, cultural, and personal beliefs, I pray that whatever and whoever motivates you in life continues to guide you on the most righteous path.

[edit] Arbitration nomination

Maksim, so kind of you indeed to remember, and to remind me, but unfortunately, I have to decline the nomination. Belated congratulations with your brand-new power tools :) wish you a safe drive and all the best - Vera - Introvert ~? 03:38, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for Editor / User Page Review

Hey MaxSem –

You opposed my last RfA in March on rationale I believe may have been related to my user page. In the time since then, I have changed my page to be more universalist (which still conforms with my personal beliefs) and removed the majority of information regarding my conversion to Islam in favor of a section on my philosophy (as well as yours if you desire). Now, I'm looking for your feedback on what you think of the redesign of the page and whether it is sufficient in quelling the March controversy over the page as well as solving the issue about possible inability to maintain a neutral point of view, especially in religion-related articles. For what it's worth, the reason I kept a condensed version of the timeline was because there were, and still are, many people who find it interesting instead of a form of proselytization. Many people have also given me positive feedback on my talk page regarding the look of the page. I personally believe that it is okay to insert individuality onto user pages, especially if it still promotes a sense of community. That is what I was going for with this current version of my user page.

Please make comments regarding the user page on my editor review page. Thanks in advance. joturner 15:08, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

I've commented that. MaxSem 15:22, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Misha Verbitsky

Dear Max, please take another look at my Misha Verbitsky article and think twice before deleting it. I am sorry that it was so short at the start, I am a beginner at Wiki. I hope I have now asserted the importance of the subject so it can be taken off the "to delete" list. If not, I will be happy to provide further information or expand it.

Best regards, Miron

OK, looks fine now. Howewer I'll put this article to AfD later if its Russian variant will be deleted. MaxSem 16:31, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

>OK, looks fine now. Howewer I'll put this article to AfD later if its Russian variant will be deleted.

May I ask why? I have nothing to do with the Russian article. If the English one is OK, why should it be deleted?

Regards, Miron

Strange, both articles were created on the same day. I assumed it was you. The problem is that I'm not so sure if Mikhail meets inclusion criteria. Currently we're discussing article about him on Russian Wikipedia, and on basis of this discussion I can nominate for deletion article about him here too. Though you shouldn't worry - my opinion has changed since my initial comment due to discussion on ruwiki, and now I'm almost convinced that mr. Verbitsky is important enough. MaxSem 17:44, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
OK, thanks for your understanding. The Russian article was very sparse at first, and I agree that it still does not seem to provide enough justification for inclusion (see latest updates in Misha Verbitsky which go in more depth as to why he's important). The Russian one definitely needs to be changed, but not deleted; it's not the subject's fault he's been presented badly. Personally, I'll keep as far away from the Russian Wikipedia as I can. [edit] Thank you

It need not have been done, but thank you for at least looking. Sometimes I forget to log in. It would have made better sence to look at the history to see if the user had been stupid (my case) and was doing something just because they forgot to log in when they were making notes.

I have been trying to understand what is going on here, and find it like a crowded room where everybody walks up and changes your outfits or spray paints you. But my quest to understand if you were spray painting or helping with my outfit, I found in your user talk pages that you were just trying to help with my outfit and not spray painting me. I am curious why you even looked at my outfit/user...

[edit] Overzealous editing

You reverted my own modifications to my own user page. Please don't do that. hypnox 13:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for that, but your edit fron anon IP looked much like anon vandalism. MaxSem 14:07, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Uhm...

Why did you edit my user page? If it was edited by someone else I would change it back myself. The ip of the editor of the edits that you reverted was my work IP... --Ifrit 19:11, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jimbo

Hey, Max! Could you please let me know tomorrow when he is coming? You can email me at mgimo53@hotmail.com (Subject Line: Jimbo). I'd really appreciate it. KNewman 20:29, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I'll let you know. MaxSem 20:39, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Это хорошо. Не знаю, смогу ли я, но попробую. Надо народ как-то организовать. Стас мне написал, что Джымба в Мариотте остановился и хочет в 8 вечера тусануть с нами всеми. KNewman 06:56, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Связаться пробовал? MaxSem 06:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Image:Motherussia.jpg Hello MaxSem, and thank you for your support at my request for adminship, which ended with an awe-inspiring 86/1/2 result. [edit] Thank you for your support

Dear MaxSem/Archive/July-October 2006,
Thank you very much for your support on my recent RfA. I am pleased to announce that it passed with a tally of 72/11/1, and I am now an administrator. I'll be taking things slowly at first and getting used to the tools, but please let me know if there are any admin jobs I can do to help you, now or in the future. —Cuiviénen 02:24, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Summary by Alex Bakharev at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Irpen

Your have endorsed the summary by Alex Bakharev at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Irpen which misinforms the community. Alex Bakharev wrote about Russian architecture: "There is no discussion on the talk page, no suggestions on improving the article". In fact there was (and still is) a discussion on the talk page and solution has been proposed. (Please see Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Irpen#Comment_to_the_summary_by_Alex_Bakharev_and_others). I suggest you to withdraw your signature under the summary.--AndriyK 08:55, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect Links

I believe you completed one of my block URL requests over on Meta for thesexlane.com and its related links. Any thoughts on this discussion? -- Fan-1967 17:33, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

As I can see, Naconkantari already handled this matter. MaxSem 20:40, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
I see you prod'ed one of the articles. On one of the others (Direct Connect (file sharing)) where there were two banned links (a no-ip and a myftp) among many others, I left a note for one of the regular editors of the page asking for a review. If they're essential, they can be saved as plain text. They may be superfluous; I don't know enough about the subject to tell. Fan-1967 20:43, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA

Thank you for participating in my RfA, which passed with a tally of 91/1/4. I can't express how much it means to me to become an administrator. Hey Max, thanks a lot for supporting me in my recent RfA. It succeeded, and I am very grateful to all of you. If you ever need help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask. Also, feel free point out any mistakes I make! Thanks again, —Khoikhoi 04:32, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

I've finally had the time during my long Wikibreak to thank the voters and commentors on my my RfA last month, and I thank you! I'll try again as previously planned in the late of spring, and hopefully I'll win it. I sure learned my lesson on a fair use image misplacement!! When I get off this long Wikibreak I'll start visting xfD everyday. Do you have any tips or suggestions for me? Thanks again, X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve)08:06, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
