Is an italian student.

MaxDZ8 comes from a contraction of the real name "englishized" and some work on the phonetical surname.

MaxDZ8 followed a rather personal amount of studies which allowed him to master some heavy wizardry. Continously struck off by ugly school limitations, he lacks the will to produce something for real so, decided to contribute to Wikipedia, which requires somewhat less effort.

More specifically, MaxDZ8 written something on Stream processing, which is a new mumbo-jumbo only he seems to know about (original "main" version shall be mantained at User:MaxDZ8/Stream_processing).

MaxDZ8 spends quite a lot of time on arcane PC programming problems using pretty obsolete tools which is trying to upgrade. After trying that Linux thing everybody speaks about, he decided it's better to take the money out of his pocket.

He knows something on both win32 and Linux, such as threads, sockets, OpenGL, DirectInput, DirectSound, OpenAL, Winsock, Vertex and Fragment Shaders, other weird stuff. He played a little with Java programming language but likes more C/C++

He's simply not good at memorizing things blindly.

MaxDZ8 has a very critical and realistic approach to problems. This gives him oscene amounts of conflicts and difficulties with all kinds of school-like relationships. He especially hates Algorithmic asyntotical analisys, pure mathematics and many strictly theorical thingies which hardly map to real world.

[edit] WIKI TODO list

  • It has been pointed out Stream processing requires some care. MaxDZ8
    • Solve the first merge with stream programming, this will probably take little time.
    • Consider pulling details out of GPGPU and merge them selectively. This will take more.
    • All this stuff on imagine shall be moved somewhere other. It should really have its own page. Issue: are there any news?
    • Re-read everything. (oof)
    • Most references are old by now. Run an internet search for new updated (yikes!)
  • A lot of people asked for pictures in shader. This will likely need to reword graphics pipeline as well.
    • Per pixel lighting has been proposed as an interesting shader.
    • It has been pointed out the article does not introduce many CG technical terms. While introducing them in the article does not seem a good idea (I still think a user should follow wikilinks if necessary), this issue needs to be addressed. Maybe a couple of interlinked articles?
    • User:Tarinth notes that a non-technical, introductory paragraph is definetly needed.
He also notes general relativity would be a good model (it features a link to a less complex, short introduction to general relativity and it's broken in incresily complex subsections (as opposed to now which are "parallel").
    • Noted the technical topics shall remain there (issue: how the majority of people should be handled? What about a "Shader for dummies" page?)
    • A lot of casual users would like to understand shaders. They should really be addressed.
    • Issued the quality/audience problem at the help desk. Remember to link the result in the ML.
      • UPDATE: this has been solved by pointing out that multiple pages should be there to address the different audience.
  • GPGPU is plenty of information which should really go with stream processing. Consider moving something.
  • fix the ugly mess for computer sockets.
    1. revamp Berkeley sockets (from scratch?)
    2. consider a merge with winsock
    3. update the socket disambiguation page

In the end, it shall look like

socket
  |____socket (computer science) (TODO)
  | |____ (berkeley sockets?)
  | |____ (winsock?)
  |
(OTHER STUFF HERE)

  • Get some fresh air.
  • Write something on DirectInput. DI is deprecated so it's better to leave this carcass to rot.
  • Get a coffee grinder and put it to good use.
  • Write something on DirectSound. This isn't going to happen any time soon. this is also being abandoned in favor of XACT.
  • Get a lot of fresh air.
  • Think about (re-?)writing something about speex.
  • Maybe write something useful on OpenAL as soon as Creative releases 1.1... Right now, it's at least a year 1.1 is around but I've never had the time to test it so leave this to somebody other.

[edit] Minor TODO list

This is stuff I believe should take less time to fix up so it will probably be fixed earlier!

[edit] Notes

This is a really cool way to quote something!

Mental note to self: looks like to move a page everything needed is to click on the 'move' button on the top between "history" and "watch"/"unwatch". I was thinking at something more involved.
