Maxim Martsinkevich

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maxim Martsinkevich (born c. 1985) was the leader of the right-wing extremist group Format18, which was the "armed wing" of the Russian neo-Nazi organization NSO.[1] He is now serving a 3 year sentence for violence and spreading racial hatred. There are also unconfirmed rumors that he is dead at the hands of militant anti-fascists.

[edit] Biography

Maxim lived with his mother in a relatively rich suburb in Moscow. At the time of his arrest, Martsinkevich was studying architecture at Russian State Social University.

He prefers to be called by his street name "Tesak", meaning hatchet/machete. When questioned about it, Maxim said it was because he had a passion for knives.

Format18 was best known for uploading extremely violent propaganda films to their website, and Martsinkevich himself appeared in many of them. The russian police closed the website after the arrest of Martsinkevich. Martsinkevich and members of Format18 group appeared on the TV show "Ross Kemp on gangs: Russian neo-nazis".
