Maxim Lapierre (born March 29, 1985 in Saint-Leonard, Quebec) is a Canadian ice hockey forward.
Lapierre currently plays for the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens. He started the 2007–2008 season with the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs, the Canadiens' farm team, and has been playing with the Canadiens every game since December 5th, 2007. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Canadiens.
Lapierre played his first NHL game on November 15, 2005 against the Florida Panthers. That was the only NHL game he played that season. During the 2006–07 season, Lapierre was brought in to replace injured defenceman Mathieu Dandenault, and excelled, scoring three goals and one assist. He was subsequently sent back to the Hamilton Bulldogs after Dandenault returned from his injuries. Lapierre was later recalled to the NHL, but when the Montreal Canadiens didn't make the playoffs, he returned to Hamilton to help the Bulldogs in the Calder Cup playoffs.
After a preseason performance that failed to impress the Canadiens, Lapierre was returned to the Bulldogs to start the 2007–2008 season. On December 5th, 2007, he was recalled to the Montreal Canadiens and has been playing ever since as a third and fourth line centre.
