Max Wielen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Max Ernst Gustav Friedrich Wielen was the Kripo police chief at Breslau. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the War Trials Commission but served only a few years of his sentence. Wielen is significant in that he was directly implicated in the killings of members of the RAF who were involved in the "Great Escape", the events of which were subsequently fictionalised in a film, The Great Escape.
